The internet is an important tool for our everyday lives, and the fact of the matter is that you can do pretty much anything using it. The reality is that we use the internet for almost everything, too. I mean, think about it like this. This week, I bought some stuff for my upcoming birthday, a few things that I just wanted for me, things like, you know, a new shirt to wear out to the pub (Fred Perry polo, high-end stuff), and some new boots because the ones that I have are falling apart (ordered from Solovair). Then, of course, I bought some socks, because I lose more socks than anything else, except for maybe guitar picks. I picked up some movies and video games online too, plus a handful of books on various concepts that I’ve been looking into recently, plus a documentary.
Honestly, when it all comes down to it, the only thing that I regularly go out to shop for in person these days is food and toiletries, and perhaps the occasional spur of the moment purchase, plus any piece of electronics gear that I can’t wait for. Also, I guess I also purchase guitars in person, but that’s because if I don’t buy them in person, I have no idea how they’re actually going to sound when I get around to playing them, and I hate buying a high-end guitar only to find out that the action and tone are both terrible and that it needs a week of being worked on (and two hundred dollars of work) before I can make it playable.
A lot of people live like me. In fact, most of the people in my generation live like this, and this means that if you don’t have a website, you’re basically robbing yourself of revenue. This is the kind of thing that can take a small business and make them capable of bringing in a lot more money, and if you’re a business in a remote location, you may end up finding that shipping around the world or country or even state is the best way for your company to bring in the money. However, first you need a website!
So, if you don’t already have a website, you need to get one, and you need to do so as soon as possible. This will allow you to step into the twenty-first century and to compete with the businesses that are already there.
