Summer Blog Hiatus
You’ve probably noticed that posting has been a bit sparse of late. I’ve been packing up my life in Walla Walla after my wonderful semester-stint as a visiting instructor at Whitman College; I spent the last weekend busy with wedding events for the beautiful Seattle wedding of my best friend Beth; now I’m preparing to take the long way home to Austin via Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and the always illustrious West Texas.
When I arrive in Austin, I’m beginning the process of actually writing my dissertation — which will cover the industrial and cultural history of celebrity gossip from 1945 - the present. I’m hoping to get the entire thing done by next June, and the intro/first chapter done by the end of the summer. I’ve thus made the difficult decision to put the blog on two-month hiatus — while I absolutely love workshopping my ideas on the blog, it also sometimes functions as a procrastination tool. But I do promise that I’ll be back in August — hopefully bouncing some of my ideas for the first chapter off of my always intelligent and insightful readers.
In the meantime, there may be a chance post guest post here and there, and I may also write a few times for Antenna. But I do hope to maintain a spot on your blogroll/RSS feed, and I’ll be back and gossip-filled so very soon.

We’ll miss your fantastic insights, but all the name of a larger piece of work which hopefully we’ll get to read anyway in book format or similar one day or another! Good luck Annie, Lx
