"Celebrity Gossip, Academic Style" was blogging my attempt to reconcile my current research, a fascination with stars, and the impulse to alter the landscape of academic publishing. It's not dormant, but I'll go ahead and let it live here and only quasi-embarrass me.
My academic work focused on star studies; my dissertation details, contextualizes, and analyzes the relationship between Hollywood industry, the production of stars, and celebrity gossip. Now I try and take all those things and make them accessible to broader audiences. My first book, Scandals of Classic Hollywood, is forthcoming from Plume/Penguin on September 30th, 2014.
